Dewberry
Rubus caesius

This shot was taken on The Puffing Billy Track in Havant, Hampshire. The European dewberry grows more upright like other brambles but seems to be pinpointed to coastal areas, especially sand dune systems. Its fruits are a deep, almost black, purple and possess a distinctive sharp acidic taste, even when ripe.
